I grew up in New England with parents who designed houses. At 18, in search of fertile ground, I moved to California. After receiving a BA from UC Berkeley in Art and Anthropology, I designed posters at a cultural center and worked with the children’s program. We developed a puppet show and served a diverse community.
I worked as a preschool teacher, a waitperson, a shop clerk, an artist’s model, and a sketch artist on the street. Then I became a licensed massage therapist. That work enriched my life for many years.
After exploring art therapy and Jungian dreamwork, my focus shifted from the outer to the inner world. My paintings began to embody mysterious narratives. I feel nourished by them.
I’ve exhibited my acrylic paintings in the US, Ecuador and Portugal.
