I grew up in New England with parents who designed houses. In search of fertile ground, I moved to California and received a BA in Art and Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley.
For several years, I worked in a Latin American cultural center, designed posters, started a puppet theater, worked as a preschool teacher and waited tables. To hone my drawing skills, I drew people in public places.
After several art therapy workshops, I shifted from realistic to intuitive painting. Becoming a massage therapist complimented my work as a painter.
I’ve sold paintings in galleries and art fairs in the US, Ecuador and Portugal. I live in Tavira, Portugal.
