Eliza grew up with parents who designed houses. At 18, in search of fertile ground, she moved to California and attended several colleges. She graduated from UC Berkeley in Art and Anthropology and then designed posters for a cultural center, taught preschool and waited tables. For a few years, she made a living on the road drawing people in public places.
Settling down again in the Bay Area, Eliza joined a Jungian dream group and pursued workshops in acrylics and art therapy. She also discovered a complementary career as a massage therapist.
She has sold her paintings and archival giclee prints in galleries and art fairs in the US, Ecuador and Portugal. She lives in Tavira, Portugal.
